Concerned as to how you good folks are doing with all of the reported 'global warming' in the Torsk vicinity.
How about a report from someone that still has power? Thanks ~ _________________ DD678 - DDR743 - PF8 - CA73 - CV47 - CVA19 - EDE791 - SS349 - SSBN633B - SS420 - OTSU2 - "Just a hard charging, sea-going SAILOR!" |

Hi Roy, Thanks for your concern.
We (in Delaware) had upwards to 18-20 inches of snow. My community looks to have had about 13", but with the wind blowing so hard and with large drifts, it's hard to tell.
There are reports of upwards to 24" in the Glen Burnie-Baltimore area.
As far as I know, no one lost electricity but not everyone has checked in yet.
I'm sure that there will be more return posts as soon as they get tunneled out. _________________ Geezer Chief |

| Not to bad here Roy as the SNOW is almost waist high to a camel. If all goes well I should be back on board sometime in March. I hope I never see SNOW again and now they are calling for freezing rain from Tuesday into Wednesday Hope all goes well for all the snow birds. |

Doing OK here in Glen Burnie - thanks for checking on us Roy!
I had 27 inches out front when I measured yesterday evening. Spent most of the day digging out!
Hope all is well down your way,
Gil |

Thanks to all for the feedback. We are having a wet winter (way above average) but nothing to compare to what you are experiencing. Thanks! _________________ DD678 - DDR743 - PF8 - CA73 - CV47 - CVA19 - EDE791 - SS349 - SSBN633B - SS420 - OTSU2 - "Just a hard charging, sea-going SAILOR!" |

Hey Roy how is your weather today. The most snow ever has fallen in Maryland and it is still coming down. The total this morning before the blizzard hit wasd 65.5 inches. Another one is due here Monday into Tuesday. I plan to start cutting grass in July as I think the snow will be gone by then.
Iguess we are lucky as we could be in California with all the mud slides.
Everybody stay safe and stay well. |

"Hey Roy how is your weather today."
You don't want to hear it with what you guys are getting.
We have 1 to 3 inches of snow in the forecast. Probably won't stick as temps are around 33f. Still, we are having a record cold wet winter here too. I can't recall one comparable and I've been around for awhile. LOL
Updates from you guys are appreciated!
Perhaps this will put a whammy to this "global warming" issue? _________________ DD678 - DDR743 - PF8 - CA73 - CV47 - CVA19 - EDE791 - SS349 - SSBN633B - SS420 - OTSU2 - "Just a hard charging, sea-going SAILOR!" |

Out here in lower, slower Delaware I measured 8-12 inches of new snow. However, with the high winds and drifts, it could be more or less but probably more.
Sunny day with blue skies this morning, which we haven't seen in about 10 days. With the sun out and 36 deg. weather some of yesterdays snow will start melting, I hope.
I would rather have your rain, want to swap?LOL _________________ Geezer Chief |

I'll admit that I just love the chaos snow creates in this area. It pulls everyone out of their comfort zone - literally and figuratively. People that are neighbors and haven't spoken for years - find themselves speaking.
And, it's so bad, hotsie totsie rich Chevy Chase kids are trying to earn money shoveling driveways.
It's great. |

A few pictures taken yesterday and today from my yard. Unusual weather for this region.
The temperature has been a near constant of 31f. Roadways are hazardous! No snowplows or salting in this area.
The ground was warm when this started around 3:00 AM on Thursday. The first 3 or 4 inches probably melted. Current accumulation about 10".
It has finally stopped falling... We are enjoying staying in and enjoying "mother natures" beauty!

Really pretty, Roy. I just love how quiet snow is.
I'll bet that's a nice view all year round. |

I was in Grenada for the past two weeks. Because of the weather we had to stay an extra four days.
What a difference a day makes, 87 and sunny at the beach and then the friggin frozen north. When friend Fred and I were getting the car out of Airport Fast Park last night I said here is a nice dry spot and Fred yelled don’t go there. The dry spot was black ice and yours truly took flight. I will remember those fateful words (here is a nice dry spot) for some time. I fortunately landed on my head and caused no damage.
I spent most of the day doing snow transfer. Much of the stuff has turned to ice. I was thinking TNT might be useful. I can still see over most of the piles.
I am amazed we got in last night. I think BWI only had one runway open. More amazing we were able to get the car out with only a scraper and a prayer. The prayer came from Fred the cursing from me. The wives were glad to see us and passed the well used shovels over to our care.
It was a decent day and the temperature got up to 41. |
