Official Work Summary
Saturday March 5, 2016

Crew on board: Chief Mike, Cathy, Chuck, Tristan, Tracey, Charlie, Frank, Jaime, Ski and Dave.

A good-sized crew mustered on a warm Baltimore Day.

• Cathy, Charlie and Tristan took care of the standing water on the deck in Lower Level After Battery. We are not yet sure if the water is from crew’s heads/sinks above or from leaks around hull openings. We think the latter and fear the former.
• Dave re-lamped the boat, including some difficult-to-reach florescent fixtures behind the filters in the engine rooms and indicator lamps.
• Tracey polished brightwork in Control, focusing on the air systems and the panels forward of that on the starboard side.
• Charlie and Tristan polished some of the higher brightwork in Control and also some fixtures in Radio.
• Dave helped Rob haul trash topside for disposal.
• Dave finished lining up all the air system’s valves and tested the air compressor in preparation for pressurizing the system next week in preparation for activating the boat’s water systems which are cleared and secured during the winter months.

• Chief Mike and Ski worked on the restoration of the gyro compass located under the central table in Control.
OFFSITE: Dave spent 10 hours disassembling the Target Bearing Transmitter. This piece of equipment was left full of water for extended periods of time. George Vest did some work restoring the stand and we now have a welder/metal worker finishing that project.
• Chuck worked on and made repairs to the Bunk Display.
Total Volunteer hours:
• For the week: 37.
• For the year: 152.
