Torsk Volunteer Association
Official Work Summary
October 7 2015

Crew on board: Dave T and Tracey.

It was a day to work in spaces that are high-traffic areas on weekends and to meet some of the folks who play a vital role in keeping our Navy safe.

Maintenance:
1) Dave took the 20 Watt florescent light that was not working in the Forward Engine Room and repaired it using parts from one in Dry Stores. Tracey painted the area on the hull on which the light is fastened and Dave installed the working light.
2) Tracey scrubbed the areas around the water tight doors leading out of the Galley and from the Forward Engine Room and did some test-painting of the door to see how long it took paint to dry, etc.
3) Dave researched the replacement of the heater in Crew’s Berthing.
4) Tracey polished the list damper.

Restoration:
5) Dave and Tracey went to Belfort Instrument Company in Fell’s Point to discuss the repair of an aneroid barometer. They do most – if not all – the repairs of weather instruments for the Navy and made the barometer in TVA’s collection.

I had no idea that Belfort was in Fell's Point and I grew up there...
