The Unofficial Report for August 15. 2015

The weather was wonderful today. It was cool in the morning but hot in the AER. The fan had died. After coffee and the excellent pastry brought by Ski the volunteers commenced working. I spent most of my time in the engine rooms trying to breathe brightness into brass and copper that had not seen a polishing rag in 16 months. Every item had to be done three or four times just to bring it up to substandard.

Others (Dave, ET, Chuck, Tristan, Charlie and Bruce) manned the ATR and Control room to share information with the visitors about the Torsk sinking the last warship of WW2. Yesterday or today was the 70th anniversary of the event. Note: Japan is one day different because of the international dateline.

Doc diddled with something on the fore deck and broke his new coffee cup. Kevin and Michele came aboard with the service dog they are training and were anxious to start a project. Ski worked on topside to inside communications with success.

It was great to talk with friends not seen for a while. Bruce (wearing hairy face) brought some coffee cups to share and it was fun to catch up with Charlie and Tristan. These two young men have their act together and are moving forward.

I spent a few minutes looking for a replacement for the lower after battery get together. Prohibition has come to the Torsk except for work weekends. I tried Dick’s where the main attraction is being insulted by the staff and having things thrown at you. I was insulted that I was not insulted. For the $6.25 price for a Bud Lite I should have received at least one maybe my 75 cent tip didn’t cut it.

At $7.00 per beer and $7 plus for a hot dog Dick’s Last Resort will be a Last Resort.

ET manning the BS station to show the trophy given to the Torsk for the last sinking. It was purchased at considerable expense by TVA.

Thanks Tim
It is great to start seeing the unofficial reports again. Not being close to the boat they are the only way we away TVA members can keep up.
Keep them coming. :D
