Summary of shipboard & offsite work for the week ending June 12, 2011


Saturday, June 11

Torsk Crew on board: Chief Mike, Big Al, Dave, Cathy, Nat, John, Cathy, Kevin, Michelle, Tracey, Little Al, Larry S, Tim, Gilbert, Charlie B, Tristan and Jaime

Big Al re-lamped the boat, and continued charging batteries in ABLL. He also repaired the fan in Crew’s Mess.

Chief Mike continued working in the Forward Engine Room. Gilbert assisted him in completing the fresh water flushing connection. They system is now ready for testing. Mike repaired V-24 in the lube oil system, labeled some additional valves, and replaced several handwheels that were cleaned by Chuck. Mike also removed two thermometers and thermowells for cleaning and paint removal.

Dave, Ski, Tim, Gilbert, Nat, Frank and Earl worked with the cranky diesel pump to remove water from MBT2C to correct a starboard list.

Dave also worked on wiring the Docent Shack.

Tim cleaned and polished brass in the Engine Rooms.

John and Larry S removed trash from between the hull and pier. John also worked in the Motor Room, chipping paint.

Nat and Charlie tagged several pieces of equipment related to the bow plane rigging system.

Frank continued restoration in the Conning Tower.

Little Al took photos.

Cathy did housekeeping.

Tracey inventoried the ships store, and did housekeeping.

Kevin and Michelle did housekeeping in the ATR.

Charlie and Tristan did housekeeping and gave tours.

Offsite during the Week:

Gil worked on TVA admin duties
