Summary of shipboard & offsite work for the week ending May 8, 2011


Saturday, May 7

Torsk Crew on board: Chief Mike, Big Al, Dave, Cathy, Frank M, Larry S, Tracey, Little Al, Kevin, Michelle and Jaime

Big Al Re-lamped the boat in several areas, continued charging batteries in ABLL, and charged air banks 3 and 6 to 100 psi

Chief Mike continued working in the Forward Engine Room lower level, where he surveyed the jacking gear, installed hose bibs for flushing the fresh water cooling system, and removed several valve handles for cleaning.

Dave unwired and removed all electrical components from old docent shack in preparation for wiring new shack. He then resumed work on rebuilding Motor Room bilge alarm system, and reedesigned original circuit for low voltage level detector for safety. He also measured for new potable water hose.

Larry S worked in Radio on the 1MC.

Michelle painted ATR locker wall that she has been working on for the past couple weeks. Kevin cleaned the deck in the after torpedo room, maneuvering, the head, crews berthing, crews mess, and the control room.

Frank painted 5 indicator panels for Cathy. He completed installation of the stainless around bridge hatch in the Conning Tower, and started installation of the stainless under the helm.

Cathy did housekeeping.

Tracey did housekeeping.

Little Al assisted Mike in the Engine Rooms.

Offsite during the Week:

Mike worked on the Lub Oil System diagram.

Gil worked on TVA admin duties
